Assoc. Ivo Injov: After 9 times they cannot elect a Speaker of the Parliament, it is better to go to elections - 1

The reasons why the National Assembly does not broadcast the speaker for the 9th session, first in order, are generally two - one is more complex, the other is more specific. This is what he said about the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the world in focus" on Radio “Focus" the political scientist Assoc. Ivo Indjov.

"More complex is the deep fragmentation in this parliament, with the strongest not being as strong as they were 4 years ago. All kinds of combinations are possible, based on the confrontations of recent years, the red lines that the parties have drawn and the interpersonal contradictions. This creates a background against which it is difficult to elect a speaker of the parliament. And it should follow that this issue has already been resolved a long time ago, especially since there are not very serious ideological differences in some of the parties.

The second reason is the clumsy changes in the Constitution in the part about the caretaker government, which bound the figure of the speaker of the parliament as a possible caretaker prime minister. Most political forces see this president as a potential caretaker prime minister, and this makes the procedure extremely difficult," commented Assoc. Indjov.

At the moment, various attempts are being made to agree on a government, but there are various stumbling blocks and it is not right to first agree on a government and then elect the speaker of the parliament. The normal practice is for the parliament to function, and if they want to agree on a government for 3-4-6 months. Under the Bulgarian conditions, this is not possible, but there are countries like Belgium, which has been without a regular government for 600 days, but in one form or another, the government of the country functions, the parliament functions, negotiations and consultations are conducted. This is the logical way to carry out the political process in one election, and not the other way around - first let's agree on a government, and then put a speaker of the parliament in the puzzle,'' the analyst stressed.

In his words, after the first session of the parliament is held 9 times and they cannot elect a speaker of the parliament, it is better to go to elections with all the uncomfortable sides and question marks surrounding such a way out of the crisis.< /strong>

Although, according to him, it is quite possible that there will be success today: "In the short term, some compromise will be reached. The current situation does not suit almost anyone, and in the longer term there is image damage. A Speaker of the Parliament will be elected, we may have a regular government for a few months, but this does not solve the political crisis. It will be resolved if the current parties rethink where they are and what they stand for in politics. Or if new political subjects appear, here I am not saying good or bad, that will return the interest of Bulgarians to politics, that more people will vote, or that there will be a party that will definitely and clearly attract voters, that working majorities will be formed and we do not witness such parliamentary helplessness, garnished with a sharp decline in political language, but this is a topic for a separate conversation.
