I really want and am convinced that the new city leadership should make efforts and start the real reunion. Not by age, not by any other signs, but only by one sign – let's make the BSP strong again. And all of us who want this, let's line up in one row and fight to achieve it. It won't be easy, it won't happen all at once, but we must do it.
This is what the long-time chairman of the BSP said – Sofia and member of the National Council of the party Kaloyan Pargov before the delegates of the City Conference.
He thanked for the nominations received both for chairman of the City Council of the Sofia organization and for chairman of the BSP.
„For the first time, I am recusal for chairman of the City Council. I accept with gratitude the nominations for chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party“, said Pargov.
According to him, in the last 10 years he has invariably received both nominations and until now he has invariably chosen Sofia over “Positano“, because there was still something to do considering the tasks that were facing the capital's socialists.
Pargov pointed out that there is already a new replacement after him, which took over the organization at a difficult moment and whose mandate is being considered today – the first half under his leadership, the second half under the leadership of Ivan Takov, who was his deputy.
“I have said more than once that these 4 years were very crazy years for me – not only the Covid pandemic, but also all the financial, economic and political crises created huge obstacles for us and we had to take on a lot of responsibility in a party torn apart by opposition, in a traditional battle between “Positano“ and “Lege“, which has not subsided for more than half a century”, he explained.
The long-time chairman of the BSP – Sofia thanks all the members for having the City Organization and despite the state of the party, it is still and will be the vanguard of the party with all the potential it has.
„Who, if not Sofia, should set the tone, set the trends, tendencies in our party with this diversity of experts, people from academic circles, people who have management experience at different levels. This is something that is high time we gathered“, Kaloyan Pargov was categorical.
