Fallen trees and uncleaned roads make it difficult to eliminate accidents in Western Bulgaria - 1

With the worsening weather conditions on December 25th and 26th, the efforts of the ERN West teams to eliminate accidents were hampered.

The most difficult conditions are in the mountainous areas around Troyan, Samokov Teteven, Lovech, Botevgrad, Apriltsi, where the snowdrifts are high and some of the roads are impassable.

A particularly big problem has been the fall of huge 30-meter trees from the second line outside the easement zone of the power lines. The current-carrying parts of the power lines are located at a height of about 6 meters and when they fall, the trees cut wires and damage facilities in difficult and inaccessible terrain. This further delays the teams in locating the accidents. Additionally, the prolonged snowfall causes new accidents immediately after the previous ones are removed. Impassable roads also create difficulties. See photos: https://ermzapad.bg/bg/galeriya-snegovalezh-25122024-g/.

Over 150 teams of ERM West are working continuously. A coordination center has been created, which is redirecting additional teams to the areas with the most difficult situation.

Current information about outages and the expected time for restoring power supply is available on the website www.ermzapad.bg in the section “For the client“, subsection “Outages“: https://ermzapad.bg/bg/za-klienta/prekusvania/.

Signals about lack of power supply can be submitted immediately to the electronic communication form: https://info.ermzapad.bg/webint/vok/contact-us.php.
