Another protest in Pleven and an upcoming blockade of the Sofia - Pleven road at around 3:30 p.m. due to water shortage, bTV reports. The protest march will start from the “Kaylaka“ park. People are demanding quick and reliable measures to deal with the problem.
Three villages in the Pleven region currently have an individual water regime. The city is no longer under water, but protesters are worried that if work on renewing the network does not begin now, the problem will recur with even greater proportions next year with the drought.
A few days ago, the municipal council announced solidarity with the citizens' dissatisfaction. It also announced support for the actions of the regional governor, the mayor and the Minister of Environment, who is from Pleven, to deal with the unprecedented water regime this year.
There is also a demand for extraordinary targeted aid from the state to start some of the projects now.
