All types of bread sold in a store, part of a well-known chain in the capital, are now at an increased price.
Of the thirty types of bread offered by the store, there is not a single one that costs under 2 leva, but this does not surprise buyers.
"They are informed and what is the reason for the increase in the price of bread in particular. People expected that there would be a price increase, for sure. I think this will not be the last price increase. With the increase in electricity and gas, these prices are unlikely to remain".
The only possibility for consumer reaction at this stage is to reduce consumption, according to the seller's observations.
"With every increase in the price of things, consumption decreases. The possibilities are limited for everyone".
Consumers are skeptical that even if VAT on bread becomes 0% again, the price will return to previous levels.
