Dobromir Zhivkov on the suspended cabinet negotiations: We have entered the phase of political blackmail - 1

The President will now initiate the procedure. This week we will probably be handed a mandate.
This forecast was made to the Bulgarian National Radio by Dobromir Zhivkov from the sociological agency "Market Links".

According to him, it was not Borisov's candidacy for prime minister that was the reason for the suspension of the negotiations for governance, because he is "ready for greater compromises", but what happened is interpreted as a postponement or political blackmail.

"We have rather entered the phase of political blackmail."
"This is not the real reason for the suspension of the negotiations," the sociologist is categorical, who admits that this is only a temporary suspension of the negotiations.

The logic of the talks went through policies, through ministries. The requests are clear from both sides and if there was a political will to bring these negotiations to a successful conclusion, the most sensitive topic could have been left for the end, he explained.

As an absolutely valid hypothesis, Zhivkov considers the likelihood that the events leading to the freezing of the negotiations for a government are related to the date for the election of the Prosecutor General - January 16.

"I would not be surprised if it was a temporary halt until the procedure progresses to a stage where it cannot be stopped. (...) Whatever declarative messages we receive from GERB and Borisov, the main reason for the failure to achieve a governing coalition format is due to the anti-corruption policy and the election of Mr. Sarafov."
If a final agreement is reached, the PP will support this government. APS will also support a government that is relatively or maximally distant from Peevski, Dobromir Zhivkov also pointed out.

If a governing configuration is achieved now, there is a chance that it will remain stable for a longer period despite the fragile majority in parliament, Dobromir Zhivkov commented on the program "Predi visci".
