Kazakhstan's state oil company KazMunayGas is interested in buying the “Lukoil“ refinery in Burgas, Bloomberg reports. Sources of the agency note that the main shareholder of “Lukoil Neftokhim“ - Litasco, has already received several offers from potential buyers.

KazMunayGas is negotiating with Vitol - one of the major traders of raw materials, to secure financing for the deal, "Frognews" specified. The company is among the leading traders on the market in Kazakhstan. Bloomberg sources note that the discussed price is probably about 1 billion. dollars.

If the deal is implemented, this will not be Kazakhstan's first asset in the region - through the state-owned company Astana, it owns 75% of the capital of the Romanian Rompetrol, according to data on the company's website.

“Lukoil“ has been looking for a buyer for its refinery in Bulgaria since Bulgaria stopped buying Russian oil by a parliamentary decision, although it had the opportunity to continue with a derogation from Brussels. Instead of Russian oil, the facilities process raw materials from various destinations - according to media publications, including from Kazakhstan.

The KEBCO variety has similar characteristics to the best-selling Russian oil variety "Urals".
