There has been no trace of 13-year-old Niki from the Stara Zagora village of Konare for a month. The search is still ongoing. The teams meet every morning at 09:00.
The child, who has Down Syndrome, disappeared on December 17 near his home and has been missing since then.
In addition to police and gendarmerie officers, military personnel, forest officers and volunteers also joined the search.
All possible terrains within a perimeter of about 8-9 kilometers around the settlement were repeatedly searched.
A helicopter and thermal cameras were also involved in the operation, but without result.
Divers also searched the nearby dam.
The police are working on all possible versions – from the child being lost to the fact that he became a victim of an accident or a serious criminal act.
The child's mother continues to claim that he was kidnapped.
"Such a thorough search, operational-search activities continue on the ground. All hypotheses remain. It is clear that those with a criminal connotation are starting to come to the fore. We also make mistakes during the searches, so we are re-passing the entire perimeter," said Kancho Papazov, mayor of Gurkovo.
"I have no money to give them. Everyone claims that I sold my child - it's not true. I can't sell my child, after I look after him with such pain all alone. I have looked after my three children all my life," commented Denka Ilieva, mother of the missing Niki, to BNT.
