First sociological data from "Measure": Rather tolerance towards the new cabinet - 1

37.4% of adult Bulgarians accept the formula of the newly formed government. Another 21.4% accept it, but not firmly. 16.5% rather do not accept the formula, and 20.8% do not accept it at all. The rest find it difficult to answer. Thus, the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov with a mandate from GERB-SDF, with the participation of the BSP and ITN and with the support of Ahmed Dogan's MRF, receives initial public tolerance, albeit small.

The data is from a unique independent, express, short telephone survey by the new sociological agency “Measure“, recently founded by Parvan Simeonov, together with his team from recent years: Juliana Galiova, Yanitsa Petkova and Svetlin Tachev. The poll presents the opinions of the country's adult population and was conducted on January 16 and 17 among 800 people.

The data correspond to the expectations of Bulgarians to make a compromise and form a government - which "Measure" reported back in late 2024. At the same time, there are not small shares of negative reactions. Public receptivity is not synonymous with trust or approval. The most positive are the assessments among the electorates of the participating parties. Among the rest, at best, there is relief that some kind of cabinet has been formed.

The picture is similar regarding the inauguration of US President Donald Trump: for 49.5% of those surveyed, his arrival brings more hope. For 35.1%, however, it is a disappointment. There are also quite a few vacillating - 15.4%. The hesitations become quite visible when asked the notorious question about the war - 47% believe that Trump can actually find a way out of the situation with Russian aggression in Ukraine, but 44.3% do not believe this.

The data are from an independent telephone survey by the sociological agency “Measure“, conducted on January 16 and 17, 2025 among 800 adult Bulgarian citizens. The maximum standard deviation is ±3.5 at 50% shares. 1% of the sample is equal to about 54,000 people.
