All lifts to Vitosha - Knyazhevsky, Dragalevsky and Simeonovski have stopped working. The reason is that in 2007 they were sold to a private owner and the Municipality has much fewer levers to force the owner to maintain and provide service to the operating lifts, commented on "The Day Begins" on BNT, the Deputy Chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council Boyko Dimitrov from the PP-DB.
According to him, this year a much better organization of traffic in the mountain has been created, with more bus lines to Vitosha being launched. This is a temporary solution while the private owner repairs the lifts, added Boyko Dimitrov.
According to Anton Hekimyan, chairman of the GERB-SDF group in the SOS, the decisions are clear.
"The court's decision to restore the Dragalevski lift must be implemented. The main blame for the shutdown of the Simeonovski lift lies with Mayor Vasil Terziev, who did not even do what was necessary to find the spare parts", added Anton Hekimyan.
He was categorical that Sofia had one working lift, and Vasil Terziev's promise is that by the end of his mandate Sofia will have at least one working lift. Hekimyan emphasized that the organization of traffic is also not good at all, because on Sunday 200 people were waiting for buses.
