Atanas Slavov: We cannot leave the case of "The Eight Dwarfs and the Notary" unsolved - 1

The PP-DB proposal to increase salaries in the Ministry of Interior aims to distinguish between employees with police functions - those who work in the field with citizens and bear the risks of the profession, from those who have administrative functions under the Civil Servant Act. It makes sense to give the increase to those who are in the field. It is important that the administrative reform in the Ministry of Interior continues.

This was told to NOVA NEWS by the former Minister of Justice and MP from PP-DB Atanas Slavov.

It is important to specify that those who retire will receive 20 times the salaries they are entitled to, but for new entrants to the system, differentiation must be made, he added.

On the issue of the number of employees in the “Border Police” Slavov believes that they should not dismiss people, but optimize the existing number.

Regarding the PP-DB's request to hear the services about Pepi Euro, Slavov pointed out that it is necessary to know where his location is, and also that there should be justice. “We cannot leave the case of the “eight dwarfs” with Martin Bojanov – The notary public is not disclosed, the MP added.

In connection with the vote to lift the immunities of Jeyhan Ibryamov and Mario Rangerov, Slavov pointed out that “we voted ”for”, because the principle position is that there should be no immunity for criminal prosecution, for initiating criminal proceedings”. And he added that “it makes sense to have immunity with regard to detention and then for parliament to assess”. He emphasized that it was no coincidence that the MPs from the PP-DB, whose immunities were requested, gave them voluntarily.

”The election of new bodies in the judiciary - the Supreme Judicial Council and the Inspectorate to the SJC - is a very important step that will take place this year, I hope. We will participate in the nominations and will defend the thesis that professionals, politically neutral, with high public integrity and authority should be elected above all. However, I cannot say whether the majority will rely on our votes,” Slavov also said. He is of the opinion that the possibilities for nomination for Prosecutor General will not be exhausted.

Slavov expressed hope that the parliamentary majority will support the PP-DB proposal for a Law on the Removal of Communist Monuments. He added that it is right for the mayors appointed by the coalition to begin procedures for the removal of such monuments.
