A car was hit by a freight train at the Strumyani - Kresna interstation at a railway crossing, Kresna municipality. The incident occurred this morning at around 8:40 a.m.. Two people were injured, bTV reports.
The crossing has a regularly activated automatic signaling with barriers, and the passenger car crossed illegally, BDZ indicates.
The movement of trains in the Blagoevgrad - Petrich - Blagoevgrad section has been suspended until the railway track is cleared.
Emergency teams from BDZ and NRIC have been sent to the scene, which will begin work after the investigation authorities have completed their investigation.
The train was traveling from Sofia to Kulata.
