For the past year - 2024, we have 13.2 million foreign tourists and 25 million trips to the country by Bulgarians. 9 million are the trips of Bulgarians outside the country, announced the representative of the Institute for Analysis and Evaluation of Tourism.
The most Bulgarians have visited the neighboring countries - Turkey, Greece, Romania and Serbia.
According to experts, our accession to Schengen will lead to growth in tourism.
The forecast is that the British market will again be the main driver, but there will also be growth from Germany.
The Netherlands and Denmark also have growth potential with a significant increase in tourists last summer. Romania, Poland and Greece are the other markets on which our country relies.
