On June 4, European Commissioners are expected to arrive at the National Assembly to announce the decision of the convergence report on the country's readiness to enter the eurozone.
We recall that citizens gathered at "Nezavisimost“ Square in Sofia to express their disagreement with the introduction of the euro. The protesters carried Bulgarian flags and posters with the inscriptions: "Freedom for the Bulgarian Lev".
The protest is part of the national campaign of the "Vazrazhdane" party against Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone. Events are also being held in various cities in the country.
In the capital, the demonstration began at 12:00 in front of the Bulgarian National Bank building under the slogan "Let's preserve the Bulgarian Lev".
