Customs officers found 22 tons of "branded" washing powder  - 1

Customs officers from the Burgas Customs Territorial Directorate found nearly 22 tons of "branded" washing powder in a truck.
On 22.05.2025, a cargo train consisting of a tractor with a semi-trailer arrived at the Port of Burgas with the Burgas - Batumi - Burgas ferry line.

The driver - a Georgian citizen - presented customs officers with documents for the transported goods - detergents from Georgia through Bulgaria to Romania. After a risk analysis, the vehicle was pre-selected for an X-ray inspection by officers from the "Fight against drug trafficking - Port of Burgas" sector. and the “Intelligence and Risk Analysis“ sector from the “Customs Intelligence and Investigation“ department.

During the control actions, pallets with 3120 packages of 7 kg each – a total of 21,840 kg of washing powder were found in the cargo hold. All packages have the logo of a well-known trademark.

In compliance with European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property, the detergents were seized. The trademark owner was notified of the case, who confirmed that the goods were counterfeit.
