The second Bulgarian F-16 Block 70 fighter jet landed at the “Graf Ignatievo“ airbase in Plovdiv, Nova TV reported.
This aircraft is part of the first batch of eight F-16 Block 70 fighters that Bulgaria purchased from the US. They are the most modern version of the well-known F-16.
All eight fighters from the first order are expected to be delivered by the end of 2025, after which they will begin to be actually used in Bulgaria. In 2019, Bulgaria signed a contract for 1.2 billion dollars to acquire eight F-16 fighters. In 2021 eight more have been ordered, which we should receive by 2027.
The first Bulgarian F-16 fighter jet, which arrived in our country last month, also made its first flight on our territory at the end of May.
