An Air Force crew with a C-27J “Spartan” aircraft from the 16th Air Base carried out today, June 11, an aeromedical evacuation of a sick child from Sofia to Antwerp, Belgium.
The plane took off from Sofia at 4:30 this morning and landed in Antwerp at 8:35. On board, the little patient was accompanied by his parents and a team from the Military Medical Academy and the SBAL for Children's Diseases “Prof. Ivan Mitev” – Sofia.
The crew that carried out the flight consisted of: commander Captain Yordan Dimitrov, assistant commander - Major Evgeni Zlatanov and flight engineer Major Miroslav Pipev. After the successfully completed mission, the plane landed back in Sofia at 13.05.
