The partial local elections in Sofia are taking place with an extremely low voter turnout, BNR reported.

The early voting in the "Slatina" and "Iskar" districts, as well as in the Mramor municipality, came about after the mayors' powers were terminated due to their participation in commercial companies.
There are several reports of violations on election day. They will be considered at a meeting at 6:30 p.m., said the chairwoman of the Municipal Election Commission in Sofia, Polina Vitanova:

"As of 5:30 p.m., the voter turnout in the "Slatina" district is 11.68%, in the "Iskar" district - 8.12%, and in the Mramor municipality - 30.94%. There are several signals of campaigning on election day, which will be considered and the MEC will make a decision".

The candidates for mayor in the "Slatina" and "Iskar" districts are seven each, and in the village of Marble - one.

Voting will continue until 8:00 p.m., and if there are people waiting in front of the polling stations - until 9:00 p.m.

The results will be clear by midnight.

As of 5:30 p.m. in the partial elections in the Stara Zagora village of Lyaskovo, 73.24 percent of those eligible to vote had voted for mayor. This was reported on the website of the Municipal Election Commission in Stara Zagora, quoted by BTA.

104 out of 142 voters went to the polls.

There are two candidates who are fighting for the mayoral post today - Maya Evtimova and Nikolay Zhekov. The partial vote to elect the mayor of Lyaskovo Municipality was necessary due to the termination of Nikolay Zhekov's powers as mayor. In April, the Municipal Council in Stara Zagora elected Hristo Dimitrov as interim mayor of Lyaskovo.

The voter turnout was over 50 percent as of 5:30 p.m. in the Sandanski village of Polenitsa, the Municipal Election Commission reported, quoted by BTA.

According to the submitted report, 550 out of 1,050 people eligible to vote have voted at this time.

A partial local election is being held in the settlement due to the death of the previous mayor of the village, Gavril Tsvetanov. According to information from the Municipal Election Commission, the election day opened at 7:00 a.m. At the moment, no complaints or reports of violations have been received.

Four candidates are registered for the elections.

The partial local elections are being held in two polling stations in the village of Polenitsa. Voters exercise their right to vote with a paper ballot and by machine, specified Pancho Panchev, secretary of the Municipality of Sandanski. About 1,200 people live in the village of Polenitsa.
