The case against Ljubcho Georgievski and the anti-Bulgarian statements of leading factors in the Republic of North Macedonia (RNM) are absolutely unacceptable. This was said by President Rumen Radev at the beginning of the meeting with Ljubcho Georgievski.

President Radev confirmed his support for Ljubcho Georgievski and recalled that the presidential institution was the first to declare support.

Be assured that you have my full support, Radev turned to Georgievski. Radev called on all Bulgarian institutions to come out in active support of Ljubcho Georgievski and added that he expects continuous work on the case.

A few days ago, Georgievski received a suspended sentence from the court in Bitola in a case of xenophobia, racism and spreading racial hatred electronically through quotes by Ivan Mihaylov, shared on the association's Facebook page.

The presidential institution was the first in our country to receive Ljubcho Georgievski and his associates during the latest repressions. When Bulgarian cultural centers were shot at, when they were set on fire, when their activists were beaten, but this same court did not file any substantiated case against the obvious perpetrators, which is a clear indicator of the benevolent silent attitude of the authorities in the Republic of North Macedonia towards anti-Bulgarian manifestations - this was stated by President Rumen Radev at a meeting with Ljubcho Georgievski - chairman of the Bulgarian cultural club that was deleted by the authorities in the RSM "Ivan Mihaylov" in Bitola.

"The position of my support for Ljubcho Georgievski remains unchanged as the position of an institution that first raised the issue of the rights of Bulgarians in North Macedonia, that put this issue to our European partners and institutions, that raised the thesis of including Bulgarians in the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia as a life-giving people, as a clear and mandatory condition for starting negotiations for EU membership and defended this position until it was included in the negotiating framework," emphasized Rumen Radev.

Later, Ljubcho Georgievski will be heard in the Committee on European Affairs and Control of European Funds.
