The protests after the arrest of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev remind us that a part of society has a critical intolerance when laws are applied to some and ignored for others. This was said in the program "Panorama" on BNT by political scientist Lyubomir Stefanov.
In his words, the protests have "breathed oxygen" into the cause of "We continue the change".
These protests are similar to those in 2013, but then there were also winter protests, pointed out political scientist Parvan Simeonov. The big question is whether there will be winter protests now, for example, over the price increase. Because the government talks a lot about this topic, but does nothing. For the moment, it seems very difficult to have winter protests, because people from one protest have a hard time tolerating the others, he added.
Lyubomir Stefanov also commented on the frequent submission of no-confidence votes by some opposition parties.
Unfortunately, the submitters of these votes are turning into on-duty grumblers. To submit a no-confidence vote, you have to offer an alternative to the government. No one has heard what exactly the submitters of these votes are offering, the political scientist noted.
At least for now, the frequency of the votes creates a well-founded suspicion that they create the complete comfort of the government. But the main comfort of the government is created by Delyan Peevski. Tonight we learned that he finally won the battle for the MRF and is starting a battle to win in Bulgaria as well.
