Teodor Slavev: We will have early elections before the presidential ones - 1

The leader of "DPS-New Beginning" Delyan Peevski demanded the closure of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

"Words, words... Without a doubt, the government is based on a quadruple coalition that has significant representation in the National Assembly - these are "DPS-New Beginning", BSP and ITN, together with GERB. There is no reason to suspect any government shake-ups here," sociologist Kolyo Kolev commented on the show "The Day ON AIR."

According to political scientist Teodor Slavev, Peevski's action is an "attempt to vent the tension."

"Currently, one of the most sensitive issues is staffing, especially in the regulators. They have specific power. They appointed 80% of the regulators they needed without a problem. The issue, as parliamentary behavior, is important," he believes.

Will they update the budget and what is Borisov's plan?
"There is no Plan B, without a doubt. They will push this way. At the moment, they have a stable, comfortable parliamentary majority and they need a serious crisis to break it. This crisis is possible", Kolev analyzed to Bulgaria ON AIR.

According to Slavev, there is tension that is maturing in the government.

"Separately, the international factor - foreign diplomats entering a courtroom happens in countries like Syria, Afghanistan. For it to happen in a country like Bulgaria is a very high scandal. It should give the government a signal that Brussels is obviously monitoring what is happening. Social tension is maturing. If it escalates in the fall in connection with prices, it could explode and become a very strange mix in the square. In such a situation, with such a cabinet, going to presidential elections is an almost certain guarantee that it will lose them. We will have early elections before the presidential elections," predicts the political scientist.

The idea that everything is stable and everything will be peaceful is frivolous, Kolev believes.

What does the election of an ombudsman suggest?
"This shows pre-election behavior. The procedure has been accelerated. There is a rush, such a feeling is created. The dynamics are strong in Europe too. Negotiations for the multi-annual financial framework have begun. A completely different mechanism is being proposed," Slavev pointed out.
The political scientist believes that attempts to influence the presidential elections will be very strong.

The negativity, the rage, the tension are against almost the entire political elite, Kolev summarized in relation to the latest statistical data from "Gallup", according to which GERB-SDF maintains its lead, while PP-DB loses support.
