Three pumps are sending additional water from the Struma River to districts with a regime in Kyustendil - thus, the water supply restriction has practically been lifted, said residents of the most affected district "Gerena" in the regional city, BNR reports, quoted by dariknews.bg.
The situation with drinking water in the city has been improving in recent days - the problem is the mass watering of gardens, flowers, terraces, as well as stadiums in the villages, commented the mayor, Eng. Ognyan Atanasov
Officially, the districts "Gerena", "Belyat kamak" and "Iztok" are still on a water regime introduced on July 28, as are the nearby villages of Slokoshtitsa and Piperkov Chiflik.
After the three pumps from wells on the Struma River were turned on and after cleaning some water intakes in the Osogovo Mountain, the water supply to the city has improved, experts said.
The required minimum of 240 liters per second for the regional city cannot be ensured. About 110 liters per second are received.
The mass watering of gardens, yards, flowers, and terraces is also a problem. In one of the villages, where a water regime was introduced, after it was released, they began watering the village stadium.
A lot of watering is also being done in the nearby village of Sovolyano, where a complete replacement of the water supply network and the construction of a new two-kilometer water pipeline are underway, with the water being stopped and started according to the situation arising during the repairs and according to the level of the Bistritsa River, from where water is supplied to the village.
