Those that are built on small rivers are of different types. There is already talk of hydroelectric power plants on drinking water pipes. This is a big threat even for Sofia. Because “Sofia Water“ has already signed a memorandum with the municipality of the drinking water supply companies to build hydroelectric power plants. The water supply companies are public municipal property, but the municipality gives them to them for free, for nothing. With just one promise that someday they will become the property of the municipality when the concession ends. But the concession is extended forever. We know that. So “Sofia Water“ works quite well. The dam there is a multi-year equalizer. It was built with the idea that in a very wet year it should be filled to the top to provide water for drinking needs for irrigation in the following dry years. The water there is given to the hydroelectric power station for something like 0.005 stotinki per cubic meter. Even in the case of the Sotsa, when they built this dam, they didn't joke about this work, because they were aware that the water from this dam was needed. Otherwise, uncle Tosho would have already built a hydroelectric power station there," the guest added.
