The Danish government plans to allocate 1.3 million euros for a new Fund for the Cultural Heritage of Ukraine. This was announced in a press release published on the website of the Kingdom's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The funds will be used to restore buildings, monuments and museums in Ukraine. They can only be allocated after the funding is approved by the Danish Parliament.

An informal meeting of EU culture ministers is taking place in Copenhagen on 3 November, with representatives from Ukraine taking part. “The aim of the meeting is to encourage other countries to follow Denmark's example“, the statement said.

The amount of Danish support to Kiev since February 2022 has been approximately EUR 9 billion in military assistance and approximately EUR 927 million in civilian assistance.
