Russian citizens took first place in the list of foreigners who bought the largest number of residential properties in Turkey in March 2024. This is according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.
Russians bought 411 residential properties in March. They are followed by citizens of Iran (182), Ukraine (129) and Iraq (82). At the bottom of the list of twenty leaders are Israel, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, the Netherlands and Lebanon. Citizens of these countries bought from 21 to 26 houses and apartments in our southern neighbor last month.
Overall, the rate of real estate sales to foreigners in March decreased by 47.9% (to 1,778 residential properties) compared to the same month in 2023. And this represented only 1.7% of the total transaction volume.
In total, over 105,000 transactions for the purchase and sale of housing were concluded in Turkey in March. Compared to March 2023, the decline is 0.1%. The most sales were registered in Istanbul - 19,000 or 18% of the total. In Ankara - 9500 (9%).
