The Court of Appeal in Veliko Tarnovo has released Rosen Krastev, known by his nickname The Glassman, under house arrest. He is accused of being the leader of an organized criminal group for drug distribution, arson and other crimes, in which three Ministry of Interior employees are believed to be involved.
The appeal against the measure was upheld by the court due to Krastev's deteriorating health.
Among them is Plamen Maksimov - the head of the capital's 5th Police Department, who was also detained. Today, the prosecutor's requests for a more severe measure for Maximov and another member of the group are also being considered.
The sessions of the Court of Appeal - Veliko Tarnovo are expected to continue until late tonight, as the appeal of the Glazier alone was considered for more than six hours, and four more sessions are expected, including the one of Plamen Maximov, which is expected to end first.
