The main directorate “Combating organized crime“ (GDBOP) suspended access to 12 sites during an operation to prevent the illegal use of music as an object of copyright and related rights, the Ministry of the Interior announced.
The operation was carried out by employees of the “Cybercrime“ – GDBOP, in coordination with Europol within the framework of EMPACT (Program for multidisciplinary and multi-departmental operational cooperation to fight organized crime at the EU level with priority activity on combating and destroying criminal networks and criminal activities of individual entrepreneurs involved in crimes against intellectual property, led by the Republic of Bulgaria).

Documents and digital devices, through which the illegal activity was carried out, were seized as evidence.
The owner of the sites he built and maintained to offer their users access to popular music in different countries by providing the possibility to download it in .mp3 format was established.
The actions were carried out yesterday under the supervision of the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office.
