A 40-year-old driver from Nessebar was caught driving after consuming alcohol and cocaine in Shumen.
The man was apprehended by the police around 4:00 a.m. on May 6. However, he did not stop when the police signal was given, but continued driving. He was followed by the police team and after meters he was already stopped.
The breathalyzer test read 2.22 parts per million of alcohol. Another test showed the presence of cocaine. The offender provided a blood sample for analysis. He was detained for a period of up to 24 hours in the police custody in Shumen.
His car has been impounded. For a committed crime under Art. 343 B para. 3 of the Criminal Code, a pre-trial proceeding has been initiated, the Ministry of the Interior reports.
