The two defendants for the brutal murder in the Plovdiv village of Stoletovo were brought under increased police protection to the District Court, wrote Plovdiv24.
Relatives of the detainees were present in the hall. The brothers have separate lawyers.
Plovdiv District Prosecutor Vanya Hristeva, who is also the supervising prosecutor in the case, insisted that Ivan and Atanas remain permanently in custody.
A few days ago, the Plovdiv District Prosecutor's Office brought as defendants Ivan Dimitrov, 40 years old, and Atanas Dimitrov, 50 years old, for the fact that on 06.10.2024 in the village of Stoletovo, region Plovdiv, as co-perpetrators and in complicity, they intentionally killed another - Boris Kisiov, 48 years old - crime under Art. 115, cf. Art. 20, para. 2, top para. 1 of the Criminal Code.
The case is being investigated. The two defendants were detained for a period of up to 72 hours by decree of the supervising prosecutor.
A real thriller took place in the Plovdiv village of Stoletovo, where 48-year-old Boris was killed. This became clear in the courtroom, where the magistrates are deciding whether to permanently remand the two brothers accused of the murder.
Witnesses claim to have seen Ivan and Atanas drinking during the day next to the shop in the village. There they decided to seek an account of Boris in connection with an old dispute of theirs. They reached his house and started calling him by name. Then Boris came out of the house, holding a gas pistol in his hands. Fired a shot. The brothers realized that the weapon was gas and attacked him. One of them - Ivan, held him with his hands, and Atanas inflicted several stab wounds on him with a knife, mostly in the leg, writes "Maritsa".
In the fight, Athanas also wounded his brother. After dumping Boris on the street, swimming in blood, the brothers evaporated.
The seriously injured man managed to reach his home, after which he called 112 and said that he was attacked and stabbed. By the time the medics arrived, however, Boris had died.
From security cameras, investigators saw that Atanas was armed with a knife on his waist, tucked away in a sheath.
According to the report, Boris died of blood loss, but there were also blows to the head.
Shortly after the murder, the injured brother sought medical attention. And Athanas hid, hid his clothes and sneakers, and took a bath. Then he surrendered to the police and gave them the knife.
Adv. Davchev pointed out to the court that there is not enough evidence for his client - Ivan. He pointed out that all the time Ivan was trying to stop his brother. Defense attorneys for both indicated that the brothers acted in unavoidable self-defense, as Boris pulled out a gun.
