Cocaine worth over BGN 2 million was found in the underwear of a driver of "Captain Andreevo"

Customs officers found 13,028 kg of cocaine, hidden on the body of a man who was traveling as the second driver of a truck leaving the country via the "Captain Andreevo" motor vehicle.

On October 9, MP “Captain Andreevo“ a truck with a foreign registration arrives, in which a man with the initials M.M. was traveling together with the driver as the second driver. – Turkish citizen. Before the customs authorities, the driver of the cargo combination presented regular documents for the transported group goods from Germany through Bulgaria to Turkey, and no violations were found during the inspection.

Before the control actions, the second driver left the vehicle, which provoked a customs official to perform a personal examination. During the latter, a total of 13 packages were found under the man's jacket and in his underwear, containing a white powdery substance which, when tested with a field drug test, reacted to cocaine. The total seized gross weight of the discovered cocaine is 13,028 kg worth BGN 2,345,040, estimated for the needs of the judicial system.

In the case, a pre-trial proceeding was initiated by an investigating customs inspector under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office – Haskovo. By decree of the supervising prosecutor, the 36-year-old Turkish citizen was detained for up to 72 hours.
