Tragedy marked the hunting trip in the land of the village of Orekhovo, Chepelare municipality. A thirty-four-year-old man lost his life after being shot while hunting in the Borovo area. The information was officially confirmed by the District Prosecutor's Office - Smolyan.
District prosecutor Nedko Simov, who is overseeing the investigation, revealed details of the case: "During the hunt, a signal was received about a hunter shot, and by the time the emergency team arrived at the scene, he had died. An inspection was carried out, weapons were also seized on the spot, a forensic medical examination was appointed, an autopsy was carried out, which established blood loss as a result of a gunshot wound in the abdominal area.
In the course of the investigation, a thirty-nine-year-old defendant was arrested. "There is an accused. As initial evidence pointed to a perpetrator. He later told about the incident. However, the results of the appointed examinations are awaited for sufficient evidence of what happened," added prosecutor Simov.
Additional examinations, including ballistics, are pending. The investigators questioned some of the witnesses and demanded all the documentation related to the organization of the hunt.
