17 years in prison under an initial strict regime for Ivet Staykova, accused of the murder to his grandmother - the actress Violeta Doneva. That's what the court decided. According to the prosecutor's office, the act was committed in a particularly cruel and painful way for the victim.
Even today, Staykova did not give an explanation to the magistrates, but she cried several times in the courtroom. Her defense claims that due to the lack of direct witnesses, the facts of the case are disputed. Definitive direct evidence of its authorship was lacking, and indirect evidence was also debatable.
In her last words before the court, Staykova asked to be acquitted. The decision can be appealed within 15 days.
