Sofia District Prosecutor's Office is self-reporting in connection with the events that took place in front of the National Theater on 07.11.2024, they announced from there. The occasion is numerous publications and reports in the media showing clashes between citizens and hooliganism.
"A prosecutor at the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office initiates pre-trial proceedings for a crime under Art. 325, para. 1 of the Criminal Code, for which a penalty of “imprisonment” up to 2 years, probation and public reprimand".
The investigation has been assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. A supervising prosecutor has given detailed instructions on what must be done during the pre-trial proceedings. The witnesses of the events in front of the National Theater should be identified and they should be called to give information and video recordings from cameras located in the area should be shared, and video-technical expertise should be assigned to them.
If sufficient evidence is gathered for the guilt of a certain person in committing a crime, he will be held criminally liable.
