Mihal Tsenkov, arrested for the murder of a 77-year-old woman in the capital's "Mladost" district, claimed to bTV that he did not want this to happen.
He shared that after 6 convictions and 19 years behind bars, he feels alone and the only thing he can ask for is a lighter sentence.
“My, I don't know. I drank. I was coming home. The woman came out. I attacked her. I hit her once”, this is how he describes what happened on October 27. He adds that he later regretted it, but it was too late.
„I don't know. I must be cursed, how would I know. It was fine when I came out, but then my niece came and we started fighting with my sister why I don't talk to her,“, he answers when asked why this is happening.
He went behind bars for the first time at the age of 22. He says that from then until now one thought has been bothering him.
"And I keep repeating to myself - he doesn't want me, she doesn't want me, to do something to go to prison. But I didn't expect that the woman would die, he says.
He adds: “At least I have friends there, I have a roof over my head, so it's not worth it to walk the streets like we once did. I've spent three winters outside and I know what it's like to sleep in the snow.
He says it didn't occur to him to go to the police himself and tell what happened.
When asked what kind of person he is and how he defines himself, he answers: “I am not a bad person, but I need to be alone to be able to control myself”.
