The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully took off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida with four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Crew-11 mission, dariknews.bg reported.

The rocket took off at 11:43 a.m. local time and carried NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fink, Japanese Kimiya Yui and Russian cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, Anadolu Agency reported.

The mission, originally planned for July 31, was postponed due to bad weather. Today's launch encountered similar problems but went ahead as planned.

The crew is expected to dock with the ISS after a 15-hour journey. They will spend 6 months aboard conducting scientific experiments ranging from stem cell research to plant biology.
