Scandalous details about the trips of the British Prince Andrew to Thailand in the early 2000s have come to light, writes the Daily Mail, which published chapters from the new book by biographer Andrew Lowney, entitled: The Rise and Fall of the York Dynasty.

In 2000, the son of Queen Elizabeth II rested at the Amanpuri resort in Phuket, considered one of the most expensive hotels in Asia. At that time, he was photographed on a yacht, surrounded by half-naked women. During the same trip, the prince visited bars in the red light district and attended a party where most of the guests wore thongs, and he himself wore a toga made of cloth.

Six years later, the prince went to Thailand again to attend the diamond jubilee of the country's king as a representative of Elizabeth II. During his stay in Bangkok, more than 40 girls passed through his hotel room. A Reuters correspondent wrote that the women changed almost without a break.

According to the Daily Beast, rumors circulated among the Thai bohemian community that Andrew and another high-ranking foreigner were exchanging girls. According to the publication's source, they sent them to each other in expensive cars, which was a kind of show of power disguised as a sign of respect.

Prince Andrew has been dogged by accusations of sexual abuse of minors for several years. One of them ended in a high-profile lawsuit. It was brought by American Virginia Roberts-Juffre, who claims she was forced to have sex with the prince three times in 2001 when she was 17. Andrew faces a court summons to give evidence under oath. To avoid questioning, the prince agreed to pay Giuffre £12 million. The scandal saw the prince removed from his duties as a senior member of the royal family and later stripped of his titles and ranks.
