Nikola Tsolov finished 12th in Abu Dhabi in Formula 2 - 1

Compos Racing driver Nikola Tsolov finished 12th in the final race of the year in Formula 2 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Bulgarian started from 12th position, maintaining it at the end, although he went through various stages during the race, BTA reports.

He dropped to 15th place at one point, but climbed to 6th, as most of the drivers in front of him entered the pits early to change tires. On lap 11, a safety car appeared on the track due to incidents, at a time when Arvind Lindblad was about to attack the first position of Leonardo Fornaroli, who secured the title at the end of last month.

On lap 19, Tsolov even climbed to fifth position, but then lost a position to Joshua Dirksen, who was on new tires and had a better pace. He was then overtaken by Dino Beganovic.

During lap 28, Tsolov finally entered the pits to change his soft tires and returned to the track in 15th place. By the end, he climbed to 12th, but did not finish in the points zone.

The winner in Abu Dhabi was the Paraguayan driver Joshua Dirksen from AIX Racing, who also won the first race of the year, and yesterday was second in the sprint. Czech Roman Stanek from Invicta Racing finished in second position, and the last place on the podium was Italian Gabriele Mini from Prema Racing.

Fourth was the Swede of Bosnian origin Dino Beganovic, who had a five-second penalty, and fifth was the German Oliver Goethe.
Italian Leonardo Fornaroli became the drivers' champion, and Invicta Racing triumphed in the teams' championship.
