Bulgarian Lora Hristova finished 14th in the women's biathlon mass start at the Milan-Cortina Olympics. The race took place in continuous heavy snowfall, BTA reported.

22-year-old Hristova, bronze medalist in the 15-kilometer individual start and seventh in the 10-kilometer pursuit, made two mistakes in her last shot and missed the chance to fight for a new distinction.

The other native national in the competition - 28-year-old Todorova, fourth in the 7.5-kilometer sprint, made five mistakes and finished 20th. The two Bulgarians shot without a mistake from the first prone, with a group of 16 competitors moving within 4-5 seconds until the second visit to the firing line.

Hristova continued her perfect shooting and came in eighth at 10.7 seconds behind the Olympic champion in the individual start, with the mixed relay and with the women's relay from Milan-Cortina 2026 Julia Simon (France). Todorova made one miss and a penalty lap and fell to 17th position at 32.4 seconds behind the leader.

Shortly before the third visit to the shooting range, Hristova was fifth at 2.1 seconds, and Todorova climbed to 14th place at 15.5 seconds. Lora Hristova made another successful shot from the standing and came in third at only 3.7 seconds behind the new leader Oceane Michelon (France). Todorova made a second miss in the competition and came 16th in 43.8 seconds.

Hristova came in second after Michlon for the last straight shooting, but made two misses, and the Frenchwoman - one. Milena Todorova made three mistakes. Thus, Teresa Vobornikova from the Czech Republic surprisingly led the column, 0.9 seconds ahead of Sweden's Anna Magnusson and 4.9 ahead of Simon.

Hristova came 12th after her two penalty laps in 45.1 seconds, and Todorova - 21st in 1:44.6 minutes. Michlon ultimately showed the best run on the last lap and finished first in 37:18.1 minutes, 6.6 seconds ahead of Simon and 7.4 seconds ahead of the third Vobornikova, who recorded the greatest success of her career.
