Fifth win of the season for Francesco Banaia in MotoGP - 1

Italian Ducati rider Francesco Banaia won the Dutch Grand Prix in the MotoGP class of the World Motorcycle Championship after finishing with time 40:07.214 minutes. The second place goes to the leader in the general classification in the World Championship, Jorge Martin (Spain), also with a Ducati machine, who was 3.676 seconds behind, BTA reported.

Another Italian – Enea Bastianini, who finished 7.073 seconds behind the winner, completed the podium. For Bastianini, this is the second race in a row with stepping on the podium within two rounds of the championship.

Like yesterday in the sprint, Banaya also made the perfect start today, using the pole position from qualifying. Despite starting from 5th position, world champion Jorge Martin didn't waste much time before returning to his original position, overtaking Maverick Viñales after just two laps. But at turn five Viñales lost another position and gave way to Marc Marquez. The fourth lap was marked by the crash of Marco Bezecchi, which freed up an opportunity for Di Gianantonio to attack and he did not miss this opportunity in the later stages of the race.

A little after the middle of the race, he appeared on the scene behind the top 3 and Bastianini, who began to attack the front drivers. In one, Marquez seemed to be displaced from the front, but managed to regain his position shortly before the end.

At these points in the race Banaya was pulling away more and more at the top, at one point his first place was beyond doubt. Martin managed to hold on to 2nd place and also kept the next three at bay. However, Bastianini managed to fight off Marquez and Fabio Di Gianantonio, leaving them 4th and 5th at a close distance.

For Banaya, this is the fifth victory at this track in Assen, as well as the fifth this season. In the general classification, Jorge Martin remains at the top with 200 points, 10 more than today's winner. Third is Marc Marquez with 149, followed by Bastianini with 136. The next round is in Germany between July 5 and 7 at the Sachsenring.
