Nikola Tsolov recorded his first victory in a Formula 3 main event after triumphing in the long race at the “Hungaroring“ in Hungary. For the Bulgarian, this was his third victory at this level, BTA reports.
Tsolov started from second place on the starting grid and already in the first meters managed to overtake his teammate Lauren van Hoppen.
At the end of the race, the Dutchman began to put more pressure on Tsolov, but the Bulgarian held the first position, earning his first victory of the week. Van Hoppen finished in second place, while Mexico's Leon was third. Leonardo Fornaroli finished fourth, just ahead of ART's third driver Christian Mansel.
With his victory, Tsolov climbed to eighth place in the general standings in Formula 3 with two rounds to go. The Bulgarian has 75 points on his account and is 44 behind the leader Gabriele Mini, who finished 12th today. Luke Browning maintains second place, four points behind Mini, while Lindblad is third, six points off the lead.
So far Nikola Tsolov had two successes in the sprints in Monaco and Austria. Only Lindblad has more victories than Tsolov since the beginning of the season, who has four, two each in the sprints and in the main starts.
