Katie Ledecky wins women's 1500m freestyle at the Olympic swimming tournament in Paris, BTA reported.
The American had complete superiority against her rivals in the final and won her second Olympic title in this discipline.
27-year-old Ledecky covered the distance in 15:30.02 minutes, defending her first place from Tokyo 2020, setting a new Olympic record.
The Frenchwoman of Russian origin Anastasia Kirpichnikova placed second, 10:33 seconds behind the champion. Third was the German Isabel Gose, who finished in 15:41.16 minutes.
Ledecki is the first woman with eight gold medals from four consecutive Olympic Games. Only her compatriots Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps have recorded this feat.
The American swimmer, who is also a multiple world champion in various disciplines, has a total of 12 medals from the Olympics.
At the Games in the French capital, Katie Ledecky also won a bronze medal in the 400-meter freestyle.
