Furthermore, Fechervar of Hungary and Sumgait of Azerbaijan became the only teams not to score. The eventual winners were the “Hungarians” who won the first match 2:1.
The rain of goals came in the clash between Sweden's Hecken and Luxembourg's Dudelange, with the Scandinavians thrashing their lowly rivals 6-1. In the first match, the Swedes were also not thrifty and in their visit they ran over the Luxembourg team with 6:2 and qualified ahead after a total score of 12:3.
We saw continuations in the match between Austria (Vienna) and the Finnish Ilves. The Finns had won 2-1 in the first leg and now the Austrians hit back with a 3-2 victory to send the clash into two 15-minute extra periods. There, the Viennese scored a fourth goal, but broke through again and after 120 minutes of play, the score was 4:3, which sent the match to penalties. In them, the Scandinavians demonstrated more resilience and won 5:4.
The well-known in our country Spartak (Trnava) had far fewer difficulties, which beat Bosnian FC Sarajevo with a classic 3:0 and after a goalless draw a week ago in the Western Balkans, the Slovaks qualified for the third preliminary round.
Another drama was left for the last match of the evening, in which Montenegro's MornarBar prevailed 2:1 in regular time against Serbia's Radnicki. The first match ended in a narrow 1:0 win for our Western neighbours, which sent the match to penalties. There, the Serbs failed and lost 3:4.
