The Bulgarian national football team under 17 defeated Luxembourg 4:0 in the last match of group B2 in Baku and with this convincing result topped the final standings, BNR reported.
The two teams finished with 6 points each, but the direct match is in favor of the Bulgarians.
Thus, with 6 points, they qualify for participation in League A of the League of Nations at this age of UEFA, but also go through to the actual European qualifiers.
Raya Boneva opened the scoring for the Bulgarians in the 11th minute, and Silyana Mihaleva doubled in the 66th. In the final minutes, Zornitsa Koeva added two goals, scoring in the 81st and 87th minutes.
Surprisingly, Bulgaria lost 2:3 to the host of the qualifiers, Azerbaijan, in their second match, but a 5:0 win over Malta in the opening match secured first place in the final standings.
