The coach of the French national team Didier Deschamps admitted that he liked almost nothing in the first quarter-final against Croatia in the League of Nations, which his team lost 0:2, BTA reported.
"To put it briefly, we made technical errors, errors in judgment. This is a very high-quality opponent, and when you give them opportunities, they punish you. Although Mike (formerly Mengian) saved the penalty, there is nothing that I liked in this first half. We can talk about many things, but it is mostly about technical errors and such in orientation. It's difficult," sighed Deschamps at his press conference.
"We corrected things in the second half and had control of the game, but against an opponent who came home organized, who can also be a bit cunning, but that comes with experience. We didn't find the efficiency", the coach regretted.
"We slept through the first half, we lacked aggression. There were positive things in the second half. We have the rematch left. We have to respect Croatia and both teams had one half. There is hope, we can change things", concluded Didier Deschamps optimistically.
