The coach of the Dutch national football team Ronald Koeman commented that he regretted conceding a late goal in the match against Spain, BTA reported.
The two teams ended in a draw - 2:2 in Rotterdam in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Nations League tournament, with the Spaniards equalizing in the third minute of added time.
"It's a bit sad when you concede a late goal. I don't think we deserved it. But when you play with 10 men, it will be difficult. The way we played and fought was very good. We had the courage to outplay Spain and we were the better team," Koeman told Ziggo.
Regarding Jeremy Frimpong, who assisted the Netherlands' second goal, Koeman said: "We know that with Jeremy we have someone very fast. I think he did really well."
Frimpong himself commented to the official website of European football's governing body (UEFA) that the match against Spain was good.
"It was a tough match against a good opponent - the European champions. We were unlucky to concede a second goal at the end, but I feel we played a good game and created a lot of chances. I try to give my all for the team and if I can bring extra energy and create chances to score, that's what I want to do," said the Dutch international.
