The story of the "Russian Messi: left without income and accommodation, unable to return to Russia from Bulgaria - 1

Russian footballer Denis Davydov, who parted ways with the Bulgarian giants CSKA in 2020, was born on today's date, March 22. The so-called "Russian Messi" footballer is remembered for his stay in Bulgaria for two things - his beautiful goal against Loko (Gorna Oryahovitsa) in the 1/16 finals of the cup, won by CSKA 3:0, and the difficult situation he found himself in immediately after parting ways with the 31-time champions.

Then he complained that he was left without income and accommodation and unable to return to his homeland. The reason is that the Russian parted ways with the Reds because of the pandemic, as he had wanted to return to Moscow. In However, at the last moment, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it would not accept its citizens returning from abroad. On one of the social networks, Davydov expressed his disappointment with the Russian authorities and complained that he was currently in Bulgaria, but did not know what to do. At that moment, CSKA announced that they would not leave him alone.

„Hello everyone. I did not think that I would have to write about this here, but I have to! I am currently in Bulgaria, since I had a contract with CSKA.

Due to the current situation in the world, the club had financial difficulties. The club offered me to terminate the contract and return home. I agreed, but on the condition that there would be a regular flight to Moscow. At that moment, the borders were already closed. And here I am, a month ago in Bulgaria, waiting for the flight to take me home. There is no talk of organizing such flights at the moment.

On May 2, 2020, the Bulgarian government organized a flight on the Sofia - Moscow - Sofia route to evacuate its citizens from Russia. When I found out that I could return to my homeland with this flight, I bought tickets, terminated my contract and left my apartment. But yesterday, April 30, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs refused to accept its citizens!!!

The Bulgarian plane will fly empty. We were informed about this two days before the flight. It seems like they only learned about the plane from Bulgaria yesterday. I was left without a contract, housing, training and income. It turns out that the citizens of Bulgaria are important to Bulgaria, and those of Russia are not. I understand that the situation is complicated, but I want to publicize this. I do not hope for a miracle, but I hope that something will change regarding our own citizens. "I wish you all good health in this difficult time," Davydov wrote at the time.

Denis, who turns 30 today, is wandering around the lower levels of Russian football.
