UEFA Deputy General Director Giorgio Marchetti commented on the state of the stadiums in Italy, which is a co-host of Euro 2032, BNR reported.
“We are closely following Italy. It is a great country in world football and seeing such infrastructure today is clearly not an advantage for them. We hope that Italy will finally be able to change something by making the stadiums modern and comfortable, which they are not today. This must happen. There is still a lot of time until the European Championship, so I cannot imagine that Italy will not have five stadiums that meet the requirements“, quoted Marchetti by “Gazzetta dello Sport”.
Previously, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin called Italy's football infrastructure a disgrace. The country will co-host the European Championship with Turkey in 2032.
