Bulgarian Petko Hristov and his club team Spezia defeated 3:1 at home against the Cosenza team, whose team is led by his brother Andrea Hristov, in the last round of the regular season in the Italian football Serie B, BTA reported.
The two Bulgarians were starters for their teams and played the full 90 minutes.
Spezia occupies third place in the standings with 66 points after 38 rounds and will play in the playoffs for entry into the elite Serie A, while Cosenza occupies the last, 20th position with only 30 points and was relegated from the second division.
Another Bulgarian Valentin Antov was not in Cremonese's group when his team lost 1:2 as a guest of Pisa, but Cremonese came in fourth with 61 points and, like Spezia, continue the battle for entry into Serie A, with both teams starting directly from the semi-final playoffs.
The first two teams in the standings - Sassuolo with 82 points and Pisa with 76 - guaranteed themselves participation in the Italian elite next season.
Juve Stabia, Catanzaro, Cesena and Palermo took places from fifth to eighth and will participate in the quarter-final playoffs. Frosinone and Salernitana, 16th and 17th respectively, will play a play-off to stay in the division, while Sampdoria and Cidatela joined Cosenza, relegated from Serie B. Spezia will face the winner of the Catanzaro-Cesena tie, while Cremonese will face the winner of Juve Stabia-Palermo.
Former Serie A champions and European finalists Sampdoria were relegated to the third division of Italian football for the first time in their 78-year history after drawing 0-0 with Juve Stabia on Sunday.
Sampdoria started the season with 2006 World Cup champion Andrea Pirlo at the helm, but a series of coaching changes led to the appointment of former AC Milan midfielder Alberico Evani in April in a last-ditch bid to avoid relegation, but he too failed.
