Femke Boll sets new 400m record with new technique

European record holder in the 400m hurdles Femke Boll continues to develop her form with the new technique. The Dutchwoman recorded a victory at the Diamond League in Stockholm with a new tournament record of 52.11 seconds, which is a personal best for the season for her, reports sportal.bg.

Boll corrected her own race record of 52.27 seconds, set in 2022. The achievement of the Olympic medalist and European champion is also second in the world ranking for the season, which is headed by the planetary record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levron with 52.07 seconds.

Second place was taken by the holder of the Olympic title Dalilah Muhammad (USA) with 52.91 seconds, and third place was taken by the representative of Panama Gianna Woodruff with 53.99 seconds.

“This is one of my favorite stadiums, so setting the record here makes me very happy. I am still not in my best form, so the victory is especially nice. I was really focused on the middle part of the race and that worked out well because I kept going at that stage,” said Ball.

“The level of steeplechase is so high at the moment that I’m really excited as I prepare for the World Championships. Then I’ll run a few 400m, then I have the London Diamond League and then I’m back for a big training block before Tokyo,” she added.
