Netanyahu: Hamas leaders living in Qatar must be removed

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that with the removal of the leaders of "Hamas" who live in Qatar, the main obstacle to the release of all hostages and the end of the war in the Gaza Strip will be removed, the Israeli newspaper "Jerusalem Post" reported.

Earlier this week, the Israeli army attacked representatives of "Hamas" in the Qatari capital Doha.

“The terrorist leaders of "Hamas" who live in Qatar do not care about the people of Gaza“, the Israeli prime minister wrote on the social network "Ex". “They have blocked all attempts at a ceasefire in order to prolong the war indefinitely. Removing them would also remove the main obstacle to the release of all our hostages and to ending the war“, Netanyahu added.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the disagreement between Israel and the US over the strikes in Qatar “will not change” Washington's support for Israel, Agence France-Presse reported.

Later, relatives of hostages held in Gaza accused Netanyahu of actually being “an obstacle” for the release of the Israeli captives and for achieving peace in Gaza.

"The Qatar operation proved beyond a doubt that there is an obstacle to the return of the hostages and the end of the war - Prime Minister Netanyahu", the Israeli Hostage Families Forum said in a press release. "Every time an agreement is reached, Netanyahu sabotages it", the hostages' relatives added.
